French Country Soaps is a soap company from Ottawa (Stittsville), Ontario, Canada. We specialize in beautiful handmade designer vegetable glycerin soaps. We take pride in the quality & craftsmanship of our products and we hope you will love using our soap as much as we love making it.

We create small batches of luxurious natural soaps. There are never two alike. We have done research in therapeutic ingredients to help benefit the skin.

Our soaps are formulated with pure essential oils, distinctive blends of fragrances, and some of the best ingredients that Mother Nature has to offer, such as shea butter, mango butter, jojoba oil, olive oil, sweet almond oil, palm oil, coconut oil, grape seed oil and cocoa oil. Our soaps will never be mass produced, and each and every bar is packaged and tagged by hand.  We are very proud of the fact that our soaps are therapeutic, beautifully fragranced, decorative and above all personalized for every body.

Why use Handmade Soap?

Why should you use handmade soap? Have you ever taken the time to look at the ingredient list of your favourite commercial bar of soap? It's full of chemicals, detergents and preservatives. Most of them aren't truly soap. Which is why they are labelled as beauty bars, cleansing bars etc.

The biggest difference between handmade soap and commercial soap is glycerin. Glycerin is the natural byproduct of the saponification process. Commercial soaps remove the glycerin, and sell it to cosmetic and pharmaceutical companies!

Handmade soap is unaltered, leaving all that skin-loving glycerin in the soap. Glycerin is a humectant which means it draws moisture into the skin, leaving it soft and smooth. French Country Soap uses only the finest ingredients, without the addition of chemicals. For all French Country Soaps, we use luxury oils and butters which are also used in aromatherapy.
